Awarded at the Kiwanis Academic Awards Ceremony in May
The Bay Alumni Foundation presents two scholarships annually to seniors who exemplify a dedication to community work and volunteerism – in the form of commitment to classmates, younger students in Bay Schools, and the citizens of Bay Village. Two scholarships will be awarded, each in the amount of $1,000.
The Bay High School Class of ‘66 scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior who has shown exceptional success in academics, gives back through community service, and exemplifies school spirit. The student must have plans to attend any accredited 4-year college, university, or a career technical school to further their education. One scholarship will be awarded in the amount of $1000.
The Bay Alumni Foundation presented 3 scholarships at the 60th Annual Kiwanis Academic Achievement Program on May 23, 2022. Through the generous donations and support from our alumni, we have been able to recognize outstanding graduating seniors for many years. The committee received many wonderful applicants for our scholarships this year and it was difficult to choose. But the committee all agreed on the following students who were each awarded $1000 scholarships:
Jennifer was not only involved in numerous activities while at BHS– includingVolleyball, Golf,Track, Thespians, Student Council,Acapella Choir,Key Club, PAL, and Kindness Club– she was also a member of National Honor Society, Academic Excellence Award Winnerand a ClassRepresentative.

In the spirit of volunteerism I mentioned– she dedicated her time to The Village Project supporting families dealing with Cancer, gave of hertime helping those with special needs through Bay Presbyterian Church, and participated in TheAppalachian Service Project–and she did these for all four years of high school. Did I alsomention a mission trip to Kenya?
It doesn’t stop there– she also held a paid job all four years, was in the first class of girls whoparticipated in Boy Scouts– earning her Eagle Scout in three years vs. the normal four, and was a member of Sea Scouts. Jennifer plans to attend Ohio University and study to become a Speech Pathologist.
